5 Watts Achieved!

San Jose, CA

DPSS Lasers Inc. reported today that they have achieved greater than 5 Watts of UV power at repetition rates in
excess of 30 kHz. President Alex Laymon commented, "because we perform our frequency conversions intra-cavity,
an extremely efficient process, we can simply install higher power pump diodes and achieve greater powers at
relatively high repetition rates. I see us breaking the 7 Watt mark in short order." The company is regarded as the
industry leader in high repetition UV laser systems, reporting over 2 Watts of UV power at 150 kHz, considered
"quasi-CW" for many applications.
At the annual CLEO conference next week, the company plans to unveil a 100 mW - 1 Watt, 532nm, TEMoo laser to
fill what Mr. Laymon calls "a hole in the green laser product offering." In addition, the company is talking about a CW
UV system in the near future that is capable of achieving 100 mW. With the introduction of their new air cooled laser
and the recent high power system, DPSS Lasers Inc. is moving into new and rapidly growing markets with innovative
new products and extremely aggressive pricing.
