DPSS Lasers Inc. (Sept. 25, 1998) is pleased to announce the start of operations. DPSS Lasers
is a new company founded to develop, manufacture and market short wavelength Diode Pumped Solid 
State (DPSS) Lasers. Originally established as the DPSS laser group within LiCONiX, DPSS lasers Inc. 
has a well established team of engineers and scientists, and a reputation for innovation. Prior to the 
acquisition of LiCONiX by the Melles Griot Laser Group, LiCONiX sold the DPSS division to the new DPSS 
Lasers Inc. "Rarely has a start up laser company had the benefit of such a leading edge product with a 
ready market" says Alex Laymon, the President of DPSS Lasers Inc.  

Current products include the model 3501, the highest power solid state laser available for stereolithography, 
and the model 3504 micromachining laser. All lasers are 355nm high repetition rate Q Switched Nd:Vanadate 
systems incorporating intra-cavity second and third harmonic generation for high efficiency conversion to 
the UV. The model 3500 has already won several awards for technology and innovation. DPSS Laser will 
continue to operate from its facility in Santa Clara.
